At an evaporation pond in Isakapalle, Nellore district, a salt-pan worker moves through shallow water to gather the harvest. Kotesh photographed the scene on 29 May 2026.
The accompanying agency record describes how heatwaves, dust storms and unseasonal rain affect salt production and workers’ livelihoods. The photograph gives that wider environmental pressure a human scale.
