Behind the photographs

The story
in the frame.

This series documents queues at gas agencies and filling stations in Hyderabad during March 2026. Residents wait with domestic LPG cylinders, while motorists gather to refuel.

Kotesh’s portfolio connects these local scenes to import disruptions associated with conflict in the Middle East. The photographs focus on the visible consequences: waiting, uncertainty and pressure on everyday routines.

A photograph of a fuel-station worker from the series was credited in Forbes’ coverage of the wider energy supply chain.
